We are thrilled to announce that our founder, Matt Thomas, has been named a 2021 Entrepreneur of the Year for the Pacific Northwest Region.
An independent judging panel made up of previous EoY winners selected Matt for this honor out of a wide group of entrepreneurial leaders. This Entrepreneur of the Year selection was unveiled during a special virtual celebration on Wednesday, August 4, 2021.
Nominees were evaluated based on six criteria: entrepreneurial leadership; talent management; degree of difficulty; financial performance; societal impact and building a values-based company; and originality, innovation and future plans.
“With Brew Dr. as a certified B-Corporation," said the team at Ernst & Young, "Matt seeks to use his business as a force for good. With humble beginnings in a tea house, Matt pivoted to responsibly brew and bottle his much loved kombucha that can now be found in stores nationwide.”
Now in its 35th year, the Entrepreneur Of The Year program celebrates ambitious leaders who are building and sustaining successful, dynamic businesses around the world. Since its launch, the program has expanded to recognize business leaders in more than 145 cities in over 60 countries.
Regional award winners become lifetime members of an esteemed multi-industry community of entrepreneurs. They are also eligible for consideration for the Entrepreneur Of The Year National Awards, to be announced in November.
