Accounts Payable Coordinator – PORTLAND, OR

Company Profile: Brew Dr. Kombucha is a Portland, Oregon-based manufacturer of 100% raw, certified organic kombucha.  It is an offshoot of Townshend’s Tea Company, founded in 2006. Both brands are run by the same CEO and are co-marketed.  Brew Dr. is in its 8th year of business and is one of the nation’s leading kombucha brands in both the natural and conventional channels.

Job Title: Accounts Payable Coordinator

Purpose:  This position will be responsible for processing vendor invoices, employee expense reimbursements and company credit card expense reports

Reports to: Accounting Manager

Job Duties:

  • Route invoices to appropriate managers for approval
  • Review and verify mathematical accuracy and account coding of invoices
  • Match invoices with purchase order and receiving documents
  • Enter invoices into accounting system
  • Set invoices for payment
  • Correspond with vendors and respond to vendor inquiries
  • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
  • Review and verify mathematical accuracy, account coding, and appropriate approval for employee expense reimbursements
  • Enter employee expense reimbursements into accounting system
  • Process employee expense reimbursements for payment
  • Review and verify mathematical accuracy, account coding and appropriate approval of expense reports for company credit cards
  • Review and enter credit card expenses into accounting system
  • Request and maintain completed W-9s for all non-employee payments; track payments within accounting system
  • Maintain organized electronic and paper files
  • Assist with month-end closing as needed
  • Assist with special projects as needed
  • Support the organization through internal and external audits as needed

The Basics for the Position:

  • Knowledge of accounts payable
  • Knowledge of general accounting procedures
  • Proficiency in data entry and management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to communicate effectively with management, employees, and vendors
  • Ability to work 40 hours/week

Candidate should have:

  • 1-3 years accounts payable or general accounting experience
  • Working knowledge of relevant accounting software (QuickBooks Online, Expensify, VBO)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office with proficiency in Word and Excel
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure
